Australia Day At The Beach

Australia Day is the day we stop to appreciate and celebrate our unbreakable Aussie spirit, our diverse heritage, our cheeky humour and our many beautiful beaches like Suttons beach in Redcliffe.

Australia day 2020 at Suttons Beach is a family-friendly event where you are invited to bring your hats, sunscreen, beach chairs, and picnic blankets and enjoy an afternoon of sun, music, beach activities and eating competitions. There will be disability parking available and free parking in side streets around Suttons beach but get need to get in early to get a park.

The last four years Shane Newcombe chairman of Moreton Bay Regional Industry and Tourism (MBRIT) and his team in partnership with Moreton Bay Regional Council have helped Redcliffe locals celebrate Australia day in style at Suttons beach. MBRIT will have an information tent set up on the day with, free Australian flag temporary tattoos, sunscreen, and child safety id bracelets available. Mr Newcombe said, We recommend you bring plenty of water to stay hydrated on the warm summers day and you can refill your water bottles at one of the many water bubblers available along the foreshore.�

Next years event will continue with many of the crowd favourites from previous years with a lamington eating competition in two rounds, beach volleyball, a variety of food trucks and if you need to beat the heat you can go for with a swim. For the musical entertainment, Mr Newcombe said, The perfect Australia Day needs live music, and we've got you covered. On the main stage, the award-winning Bassline Band will headline the night performing all the classic Aussie hits. Before Bassline takes to the stage there will be a variety of local performers and bands on the stage entertaining crowds from 3pm.�
