Musical Journey Through The Streets of London
Music ranging from classical to contemporary, by your favourite British composers, will be showcased when the Redcliffe City Choir performs 'Streets of London' this month.

The concert will feature songs by Lennon and McCartney, Elgar, Rutter and Andrew Lloyd Webber, amongst others. From madrigals and stirring anthems, through to show tunes and pop, the choir promises a celebration of sound.

Redcliffe City Choir sings all types of music, from major sacred works, to opera, spirituals and modern popular, so there is something to suit all tastes.

Helen Thomas, president of the Redcliffe City Choir, said they hoped the audience would enjoy the quality and variety of choral music sung.

We will perform medleys from Phantom of the Opera, Oliver, and Queen, including Bohemian Rhapsody, Helen said.

And of course we will sing our title song, Streets of London.

Earlier this year, the choir received rave reviews for their sold-out event, Afternoon at the Opera, highlighting their diversity and quality of performance.

Helen said the choir also welcomes new members to enjoy the benefits of singing with other lovers of music and like-minded people.

Choral singing is good for the brain, as well as the body. Our warm ups at rehearsals see to that! Helen said.

Many people enjoy the feeling of belonging, which being a member of a choir brings.

The choir usually performs three concerts each year and also sings at other community events.

In the meantime, take the opportunity to check out the Redcliffe City Choir at their best when they perform Streets of London.

Don't miss out on being part of this nostalgic journey through wonderful musical memories performed with joy and verve. A delicious afternoon tea is included in the $20 ticket for this event. School-aged children are free.
