Run, Redcliffe, Run!
Fitness-minded individuals will have already locked in their entries for one of the most picturesque fun runs on the winter running calendar.

This year's Jetty 2 Jetty (J2J) fun run will wind its way from a new starting line, located at Pelican Park, along the Redcliffe foreshore to Scarborough and back on Sunday 21 July.

With four race categories to choose from, including the GKS Law Half Marathon (21km), Village Motors 10km, Ballycara 5km and Sesame Lane 3km, there is a race for any level of fitness.

Mayor, Allan Sutherland, said organisers had the event coordination down to a fine art, which was a key reason behind its success and ever-growing fan base.

The J2J is known as one of Queensland's best organised and most scenic fun runs, Mayor Sutherland said.

Whether you are a first-time runner or addicted to running events, the J2J is sure to win you over with its stunning course staged around the Redcliffe Peninsula.

Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism (MBRIT) CEO, Shane Newcombe, is encouraging everyone to give the J2J a go, promising a race to suit everybody.

With only a limited number of places left in each race, now is the time to sign up and give it a go, Mr Newcombe said.

Whether you train all year round or are looking for a new way to get active with your friends, it's time to dust off the running (or walking) shoes because the J2J offers a distance for everyone.

Plus, each runner that crosses the finish line will take home a finisher medallion, which is great for bragging rights.

This year's chosen charity to benefit from the event, is Chameleon Housing, a not-for-profit community organisation that helps to provide safe and affordable accommodation to young families on the Peninsula.

Participants and spectators can browse the Kindred Healthy Living Expo, featuring health services, activewear, gyms, supplements and personal training groups.

Personal trainers and physiotherapists will also be on hand to help runners recover in the Rebel Sports Warm Down Zone.
