Imagine driftwood and potted plants, suspended in recycled cotton in neutral tones. This is macramé and it is used for wall-hangings, hammocks, swings, chandeliers and even as ornaments at weddings. Macramé has been around since as far back as the 13th century, and has swung in and out of fashion through the ages.
Now you can have the chance to learn this ancient art with the talented artist Emilia Lorena.
It beautifully marries the déco of boho and eclectic design.
Every material I use is all local, 100% Australian cotton rope, and handmade beads from a clay artist, says Emilia.
This workshop is being held on Sunday, 11th November in partnership with Soul Harvest Wholefoods Eatery in Margate.
Create some stylish plant hangers from macramé, while treating your senses with some delicious treats.
Have an afternoon with your friends or go solo, and learn a new craft.
