Redcliffe, It's Time To Talk With Arj Barker

Story: Redcliffe Guide

Redcliffe, It
We need to talk. No we aren't breaking up with you ' we are just bringing to your attention that Arj Barker is heading to the Redcliffe Peninsula soon.

Australia's adopted son of comedy, Arj Barker, is performing his show entitled 'We Need to Talk' at the Redcliffe Cultural Centre on 21 September.

To find out exactly what Arj wants to talk about, you'll have to head to the show, but Arj has issued the following invitation ' and tongue-in-cheek warning.

Look, I've been doing a lot of thinking about...Us, and where we're headed. This isn't easy, but I need to be 100% honest with you, even if what I say makes you laugh, very, very, hard. You had better sit down for this'

Now if you're not familiar with Arj's work, he is a regular on Australian TV screens. You may recognise him from his role as Dave on the hit show Flight of the Concords, or his appearances on The Project, Just For Laughs, Spicks and Specks, Good News Week, Talkin 'bout Your Generation, Have You Been Paying Attention, and The Footy Show.

Arj has made numerous appearances on late night talk shows, including Letterman and Conan O'Brien, as well as his own half hour special on HBO produced by comedy central.

Arj also recently released his online musical comedy video, Disgracebook, that pokes fun at the ways in which we are misusing and abusing social media.

Known for his laid-back, slacker persona and offbeat style Arj is an accomplished performer on the international stand-up scene, appearing at everything from the Edinburgh Festival to the Melbourne Comedy Festival.

In recent years, Arj has split his time between the US and Australia where he has made himself a name thanks to his relentless touring.

Arj's most recent tour has taken him across Australia, with stops across regional NSW and Victoria, Darwin and now Queensland, where he is performing at Redcliffe before heading to Mackay, Townsville and back to Logan in October.
