Floral and Art Festival
This June, Redcliffe will come alive with colour at the Redcliffe Peninsula Floral and Art Festival.  In what can only be described as a feast for the senses, the Floral and Art Festival will showcase floral installations and displays, breathtaking art and delicious Devonshire Tea will be available to tantalize all of the senses.

St Peter the Fisherman Anglican Church has teamed up with the incredible force that is Redcliffe Art Society to bring this festival to Redcliffe. We chat to Liz Peters who is one of the coordinators of the event who explains, Over 1000 people attended the two-and-a-half-day event last year, and after the amazing and encouraging comments in the visitors' book, we decided to make it an annual event. This year we are spreading our wings to include all of Australia's states and territories.ť

Each state and territory will be represented by landmarks, heritage and scenery as a tribute to the fallen soldiers to mark 100 years since the end of World War 1. There will also be a display of Indigenous artefacts, pottery, craft, music and a free wine tasting featuring South Australian grape varieties. A sensory delight, the festival also caters to the younger art lovers too. Liz says, Our younger visitors are welcomed with a display depicting Waltzing Matilda, and they will be able to join in the craft activity to make items to add to the display.ť

If you love souvenirs, be sure to pick up your own piece of the festival. Liz says, Greetings cards depicting Australian views and flora will be on sale for $1 each as well as Tasmanian photographer, Sue Guiver's photographic talent, who has also donated all proceeds of the sale of her cards, tags and bookmarks to the Floral and Art Festival costs.

Of course, there are raffles, including a watercolour of the Flinders Ranges by the late Sandra Hines and a framed embroidery of native flowers and more.ť

There really is something to delight all ages and walks of life at the Floral and Art Festival. Head down to St Peter the Fisherman Church and enjoy a vibrant, colourful weekend.
