The rollicking good times are set to continue when the Radiators hits the stage at Redcliffe Dolphins Leagues Club on December 8, and the best news of all is the gig is free.
Bass player Geoff Turner says the band's shows this year have been as energetic and well received as ever.
The crowds have been unbelievable at many shows during 2017, with heaps of venues sold out days before the gig,ť he says.
We have been noticing a good sprinkling of younger people attending shows for the first time, curious to see what The Rads are all about.
As well as our beloved diehards, we are meeting a lot of punters that haven't seen us for decades. They're telling us they are cursing themselves for not doing it sooner!ť
Not many bands can say they've spent 39 years on the road together but for Aussie pub rock stalwarts The Radiators, every gig and every cheer has been a gift well worth the hard work.
The hits are resonating strongly, Turner says, with songs spanning their whole career still getting the punters on their feet.
Songs such as I Wish That I Was 17 Again, Comin' Home, No Tragedy and of course the perennial fave Gimme Head always go down a storm,ť he says.
The boys are favourites on the Peninsula and Turner says they love playing in the region.
It's been probably two years since we played in Redcliffe, so we are looking forward to playing at The Dolphins once again,ť he says.
It's a great club with a good rock'n'roll crowd always turning up. The good people of Queensland never cease to amaze us with their dedication to the band.
Anyone who has never seen The Radiators before and wants to come along can expect a genuine slice of the '80s - tight, well-crafted, punchy songs.ť
And what are the bands fondest memories after nearly 40 years on the road?
Whether it was playing to a crowd of 150,000 at The Sydney Opera House steps, or playing to a couple of hundred people at sunset in remote and beautiful Kakadu, we have enjoyed it all,ť he says.
Now that can radiate with us all.
