Have A Blast At Nye Twilight Markets

Savour the last sunset of 2021 on the picturesque Peninsula with family, fireworks and fantastic food at the New Year's Eve Twilight Markets.

Local and visitors will be able to celebrate the new year at the family-friendly event presented by Redcliffe Farmers and Artisan Markets.

Marketing coordinator Natalea Noyes said Redcliffe Parade would be jam-packed with food, entertainment and unique artisan goods.

It's a nice, relaxed way to spend time with the family ahead of 2022,� Natalea said.

It's a beautiful time of year to enjoy evenings outside by the waterfront. There will be heaps of live music, roving entertainment like stilts, fire twirlers and circus performers, sideshow alley, a jumping castle and a petting zoo for the kids.�

It wouldn't be New Year's Eve without fireworks, and the Twilight Market will have not just one, but two, spectacular fireworks shows at 7pm and 9pm.

The benefit of two shows is that families with small children can still enjoy all of the festivities, and families with bigger children can enjoy two shows,� Natalea said.

Festival-goers will be spoilt for choice when it comes to sampling an array of mouth-watering treats. Natalea said there would be all the usual market favourites, including delicious international cuisine.

Think paella, nachos, gozleme and langos,� she said. As well as kid-friendly hot dogs, chips, and potato slinkies. And of course, fan favourites for dessert including traditional Dutch doughnuts, Spanish churros, light-up fairy floss and handmade gourmet fudge.�

Those looking for a sit-down meal can choose from the fantastic restaurants on Redcliffe Parade before browsing more than 150 market stalls. With unique handmade goods, retail items, fashions, and gourmet provisions like fudge, jerky and jams, there will be something to please everyone.

In sideshow alley, young ones and the young-at-heart will have a ball playing games like the laughing clowns, catch-a-duck, bust-a-balloon and visiting plenty of kid-friendly exhibitors.
