Concert Celebrates Best Of Boomer Generation

Take a walk down memory lane and reminisce with Rockin Through the Ages, a concert that pays tribute to some of the greatest number one hits of all time.

Seasoned musicians Greg Bankx, Steve Cummins and Dave Cail, and the RTA band will perform the best songs of the 50s, 60s and 70s at the Redcliffe Entertainment Centre this month.

Greg, who sings and plays lead guitar, said they had previously performed the show in Redcliffe to rave reviews.

Rockin Through the Ages is known in the area,� Greg said. Before COVID we would meet and greet our audiences and have built up a good rapport with them over the years.

The Redcliffe Entertainment Centre is one of our favourite theatres and the audience there always loves to join in as we move through 30 years of incredible music. They are not afraid to engage with us and just get involved and have a great night out.�

The show is a musical and visual spectacular with classic footage from 50s, 60s and 70s music videos, television shows and commercials featuring on the theatre's big screens.

Greg said they got the idea for the show after being asked to perform a concert that was targeted to the Baby Boomer demographic.

We received a standing ovation and realised we were onto a real winner,� Greg said. We went into production mode and brought in rock and roll dancers and the visuals on screen of the original artists performing the songs in sync with us as we are performing.�

Rockin Through the Ages has since proven to be a big hit, with the band touring the show across Australia for the last four years.

The concert might be aimed at Baby Boomers but with a set list that includes timeless classics from The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Neil Diamond and Queen, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Instantly recognisable tunes like Bill Haley's Rock Around the Clock are sure to get the crowd singing along and dancing in their seats.

It makes for a nostalgic night of days gone by,� Greg said.
