Adventure lovers rejoice. The Moreton Bay Caravan, Camping, Boating and 4x4 Expo is back on the weekend of 12'14 February at the Redcliffe Showgrounds and it will be bigger and better than ever before.
With over 150 exhibitors, the expo will highlight the latest in camper trailers, leisure vehicles, boats and four-wheel drives and provide all the expert tips you need to perfect your next outdoor adventure holiday.
Australian Events managing director Bob Carroll said the event is very exciting for 2021 as it is filled with a variety of entertainment including Ron Wilson aka King Brown, who is a well-known camp oven cook. The event will also incorporate more destination information into the expo.
It's the first major leisure event for the year, Bob said. Often we have a lot of people who come that have been spending their holidays deciding where to go next and what else they need to improve their camping experiences.
People who might traditionally go to the Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast for their yearly trip are asking more questions as they want to know what else Queensland has on offer, he said.
We want to show everyone some of the amazing places they may never have realised were so close. We have a fascinating country.
Bob said the presentations they offer at the expo is aimed to show everyone a new skill, and he was impressed by the number of women and children that are showing interest in the event.
It used to be ladies worrying about if they could safely four-wheel drive off the beach in case of emergency if their partner got hurt, Bob said. Now the women are planning camping trips with their girlfriends, taking kids by themselves and some are driving bigger four-wheel drives than the men. It is fantastic as camping, caravanning, boating and four-wheel driving is for everyone.
This year, all attendees need to pre-purchase tickets via bayexpo.com.au, with single and multi-day passes available. A big bonus this year for families is that although children receive free admission, although they still require a ticket, which entitles them entry into all the competitions. The major prize is the best the expo has had to date ' a boat valued at $10,000.
