Love Stinks For These Star Comedians

Whether you're lucky in love or single and fabulous, one thing you can be sure of is enjoying a good laugh at the anti-Valentine's comedy special event, Love Stinks.

Join Sit Down Comedy stars Andy Thompson, Emma Zammit and Steven J Whiteley at North Lakes Sports Club this February as they take a look at the lighter side of broken hearts and relationship woes.

One of the show's comedians, Emma Zammit said it will be a unique opportunity for locals to enjoy some fun.

I think it's going to be a great night with kind of a different spin on things for people to go out for Valentine's Day,� Emma said.

While the show is more of a flipside of the lovers' celebration, Emma thinks it represents the perfect first date opportunity.

Any kind of comedy night for the first date is always the best night because somehow you walk away thinking your date's super funny because you've been laughing all night.�

Emma is excited to be sharing the stage with her co-stars; seasoned comedy veteran and regular ABC Radio Brisbane panellist, Andy Thompson; and Steven J Whiteley, who's been nicknamed 'The Bogan Prince of Australian Comedy'.

We've got a really good line-up. Andy is fantastic and Steven is amazing!�

Bringing her relaxed and relatable style, Emma will be focusing her material on the night to everyday relationship stuff�.

She first got into standup comedy after taking career advice from her sister, who decided it was time to move her one-liners out of the lounge room, and enrolled her in a standup comedy writing course for the sake of family harmony.

All jokes aside, Emma is feeling incredibly fortunate about being able to perform given the challenges of the pandemic.

In the bigger picture of things, I think we're very lucky to be still going to comedy nights and being able to do this kind of stuff. If we've got an opportunity to go out and see live entertainment, have a really good laugh, and a great night, then that is the best outcome to this.�
