Family Fiesta
International Food Trucks, Animal Farm, Live Music! Get your tastebuds ready for a delectable spread of international cuisine and your dancing shoes on for an awesome display of live music at the annual Family Fiesta, Saturday 21 March.

Hosted by Metro North Hospital and Health Service at the Redcliffe Showgrounds, the Family Fiesta is an annual community event that celebrates Harmony Day.

Harmony Day is recognised nationally on 21 March and started in 1999. The event coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Each year, the date is marked by people coming together, celebrating and participating in local activities.

Redcliffe's Family Fiesta kicks off at 11am and visitors can expect an array of international food trucks, an animal farm, face painting, live music and acts from a range of multicultural performers as well as workshops.

Metro North Chief Executive, Shaun Drummond, said the event was part of Metro North's Values in Action program, which celebrated the organisation's people-oriented values, enabled staff to have fun together and encouraged the community to participate in and enjoy the festivities.

Each year Family Fiesta brings together our community to enjoy and experience the sights, sounds and tastes from around the globe, Mr Drummond said.

To honour Harmony Day this year we are putting on a great day of entertainment and activities for the whole family. This is an opportunity for everyone to celebrate our region's multiculturalism and a time for us to reflect on the diverse community that helps to make us the biggest and best hospital and health service.

Mr Drummond said the wellbeing of their staff and the community was a high priority for Metro North Hospital and Health Service.

We pride ourselves on fostering a work culture that supports not only staff wellbeing and a good work-life balance, but also creates a friendly and engaging relationship with our community, he said.

We had a great response to Family Fiesta last year and I'm very pleased to say that this one will be our biggest and best yet, so come and join us!
