Spend a day listening to live music and enjoying a game of barefoot bowls as the Our House on the Hill event returns for its second year, offering a host of live performances to support and bring awareness to medical research and organ donation.

This family-friendly event is a must for all classic rock fans but also caters to anyone wanting to have some fun in honour of a great cause.

Held at Bramble Bay Bowls Club and organised by a team of hard-working volunteers, entry is by way of a gold coin donation. It’s all for the benefit of worthy charity organisations The Common Good (Prince Charles Hospital Foundation) and Donate For Life.

Bass player and MC Hilton Marsh said the music programme featured bands like Brit Beat Mania, “who we regard as being one of the best British pop rock band shows available”, and Dr Damage, an Angels tribute band.

Hilton said the success of this year’s fundraiser would prove to be multi-faceted, with many other activities to punctuate the music – including talks from the charity organisations involved.

“[We’ll have] a full-to-capacity audience, sold-out raffle tickets, spirited bidding at the auction, a line-up at the sausage sizzle, and raucous laughter from the queue waiting to either play or cheer on the barefoot bowlers. And must I remind you about LuLu Devine’s Pinup Parade,” Hilton said.

“This year, the club has been blessed to have two regulars – Kathy [Taylor] and John [Whittaker] who are recent transplant recipients. They bring a relatable face to the fundraiser and the benefits it has to the Redcliffe community.”

Australia’s premier pinup event producer and MC LuLu Divine said she became involved when Kathy approached her with a dream of creating an event to raise awareness for organ transplant.

“Giving the gift of life is a message worth sharing,” Lulu said. “It also gives us an opportunity to raise money for these organisations through the various raffles and other fundraising mechanisms in place.”

The Sunday Seaside Pinup Parade continues its legacy with last year’s winner, Peachy Patra, set to return to judge entrants under the new theme, Think Pink.
