Time : 9am - 11:30am
Where : Crockatt Park to Pelican Park
Address : Woody Point
During National Dementia Awareness Month, the Moreton Bay Dementia Alliance will hold ‘Walk with Me’, a community awareness campaign which includes a 3km walk in Woody Point.

This inaugural event, on Sunday 15 September, hopes to raise awareness of dementia and create positive attitudes towards people living with dementia and their carers.

One of the event organisers, Micah Lean, said the event was created in response to other community awareness campaigns.

“We want to be a part of destigmatising dementia by creating a dementia friendly Redcliffe and Moreton Bay. One way to do this is to hold community events that engage with all generations and community groups,” Micah said.

The event will also include an expo featuring local support services, businesses, live music and guest speakers.

“The Moreton Bay Dementia Alliance believes by walking together it is symbolic of what we hope to achieve doing life together and caring for each other,” Micah said.

Individual registration is $15 and individuals living with dementia and their carers are free of charge.
