CAROLS GET SWEET SANTA SURPRISE
The Redcliffe Peninsula's largest Christmas event is once again returning to Scarborough - with a secret Santa twist. Boasting fun and entertainment for the young and the young-at-heart, Scarborough Christmas Carols is set to shine brighter than ever.

Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism chairman, Shane Newcombe, said the event is for the entire family.

Families can look forward to a medley of Christmas carols, live festive performances, free activities and great food in the perfect waterfront location, Mr Newcombe said.

Be sure to pack a picnic blanket and chairs and secure your spot for a relaxing community night.

In an exciting Redcliffe Guide exclusive, we can reveal that Santa has chosen a new method of transport over his traditional sleigh and reindeer.

This year, Santa will be making his grand entrance on a motorbike!

Families will be able to visit Santa in the Sesame Lane Santa's Village where children can have their photo taken with Santa and write him a letter, to be sent all the way to the North Pole.

For a truly enchanting Christmas experience, visitors will also be able to experience the wonders of snow in a life-sized snow globe.

Adults and children alike can make some furry and feathered friends at the free animal farm.

A full program of entertainment will be provided by local choirs and community groups including The Ruby Reds and Friends, the Sharon Alback Dancers, Red Music Centre and McKenzie Band.

They are sure to belt out everyone's favourite Christmas tunes.

Take the night off cooking and delight in delicious food stalls, which will be available for the duration of the event.

Scarborough Beach car parks will be closed for the event, however parking will be available in surrounding streets. The event is strictly alcohol-free.

Following recent fires and the State of Fire Emergency declaration across Queensland, the event fireworks have been cancelled, and event organisers will instead be making as well as collecting donations for Queensland's Bushfire Appeal.

The event is presented by Moreton Bay Industry and Tourism in partnership with Moreton Bay Regional Council and sponsored by Sesame Lane Care and Kindergarten. For more information please visit christmasmoretonbayregion.com.au.
