ROOFTOP COOKING CLASS REACHES NEW HEIGHTS
Sunshine, seafood and great company is a delicious combination. Add cooking that seafood meal yourself, under the guidance of a much-lauded chef, on a rooftop with beautiful views over picturesque Moreton Bay and the experience becomes next level!

As part of the Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival, The Sebel Margate Beach is inviting culinary enthusiasts to join them for a hands-on cooking class, run by chef, Michael Harris, on their stunning Rooftop Terrace.

Chef Harris is passionate about featuring fresh, seasonal produce from local suppliers and said that food is meant to be enjoyed with family and friends.

Cooking to me is always about bringing people together to enjoy local produce.

No matter how good a chef you are, it's not enjoyable cooking for yourself. The joy comes from cooking and eating with others. It's about the gathering of family and friends, he said.

Beginning his career with an apprenticeship at the Dorchester Hotel, in London, the English-born chef has trained with Michelin starred chefs in two countries and has worked with Jamie Oliver and Heston Blumenthal. He spent time in highly-esteemed kitchens across Europe and Asia before arriving in Australia several years ago.

Michael is an enthusiastic advocate of the Moreton Bay area and believes in letting food speak for itself, by enhancing its natural flavours. Michael said he hopes that the cooking class participants would be inspired to source and cook with more local ingredients themselves.

At the class, participants will be shown tips and tricks of preparing a delicious seafood dish. The class will be followed with a meal and glass of wine served in the Margate Beach House. The fun doesn't end there ' everyone receives a take-home box of ingredients, so they can recreate the recipe of the day at home.

Tickets are $39 per person, available at www.eventbrite.com.au for ' search for Rooftop Cooking Class. Places are limited.
