That Old Time Rock 'n Roll

Feel like getting your dancing shoes on for a good cause? This month at the Redcliffe Golf Club you'll have your chance, when the Old Time Rock 'n Roll Dance Party brings you a huge night of live 50s and 60s music!

The show on Saturday 14 September is all about having fun and raising money for the Redcliffe Relay for Life and the Cancer Council, supporting and celebrating those affected by the disease.

Lorraine Moyes is organising the event, and she knows her stuff! Performing under the stage name of Julie Paris, Lorraine has been gracing stages since the 60s, working with artists like Col Joy and The Joy Boys, Lonnie Lee and Johnny Farnham (before he was known as John).

I just love performing and although it's always been something I just do for fun, I've been really lucky with how things have gone,� Lorraine said. I'm very much looking forward to performing in this show, it will be three solid hours of music people can dance to!�

We've also got Caesars's Rockers, a really experienced, professional and most importantly fun rockabilly outfit, as well as a local duo called The Lovely Daze, who play a range of much-loved classics from the sixties to today.�

The bands are playing for free and the Redcliffe Golf Club has kindly donated the venue for the evening, ensuring as much money as possible goes to the nominated charities. Dinner will be available on the night as well as a fully licensed bar.

Everybody's been touched by cancer, lets face it,� Lorraine said. It's one of the most important causes that we could support.�
