The Moreton Bay region will play host to one of the biggest events on the winter calendar – Redcliffe KiteFest.

Clontarf’s Pelican Park is where you will find the Peninsula’s most colourful weekend this June.

Division 6 Councillor, Koliana Winchester, said she was excited to welcome locals and visitors for a weekend of fun. “It’s the ultimate kids’ weekend, with a range of low-cost activities and entertainment, all full of fun and colour,” Ms Winchester said.

“Adrenaline junkies can enjoy jet ski stunt shows, aerobatic displays and amusement rides.”

A diverse range of entertainment is on offer this year, with many new features in the program.

Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism CEO, Shane Newcombe, said that Redcliffe KiteFest had been able to secure the world-famous Baby Shark stage show.

“Redcliffe KiteFest brings tens of thousands of people from all across South-East Queensland to the Moreton Bay Region,” Mr Newcombe said.

“We’re thrilled to have a world-class entertainment program this year, for locals and visitors to the region.”

The Sesame Lane Kids Zone will be a hive of activity for children of all ages with fun activities, exciting workshops and vibrant entertainment.

Flutters Fairy Land will entertain the little ones with twice-daily shows and storytime sessions, as well as face painting, over the weekend.

The Kindred Main Stage will host a line-up of local musicians and bands, plus dedicated children’s shows twice daily.

Visitors can enjoy musical acts Hope D, Alex Konsenko, Ben Barker and Ruby Gilbert on the Saturday; and Ballantyne, Leo Altarelli, Kayso Grande Duo and Peppermint Ollie on the Sunday.

The sky above will be an amazing sight as colourful kites are flown high by domestic and international professional kite flyers and the incredible Redcliffe Kite Club flyers. Councillor Winchester encourages local families to bring their own kite, “Have a go at flying your own kite high in the sky in the USC public kite flying zone,” she said.
