RMT brings Mr Darcy to Town
Enjoy a night of sophistication and wit when Redcliffe Musical Theatre presents an adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice this June.

Madeleine Johns, president of Redcliffe Musical Theatre, said they chose to present this literary classic because of its popularity and universal appeal.

This particular 1934 adaptation, by Helen Jerome, is as close to the original novel, in terms of language, as we could find. It is also staged in three acts ' an old-fashioned style of presentation rarely seen these days, Madeleine said.

The cast consists of 18 actors of varying ages. They were carefully selected through a rigorous audition process, which assessed their ability to embody the character, use a British accent and demonstrate period-style acting.

Austen fans can rest-assured that the language, era and dialogue are all true to the original story, Madeleine said.

Theatre-goers can look forward to a traditional box-style set and true-to-era furnishings and props, as well as cabaret style seating where they can enjoy a glass of wine or a cheese platter while watching the show.
