Peninsula eatery, What’s In The Pot? Osteria, is stirring things up with the addition of a wine and tapas bar to its already popular traditional Italian offering.

Owner, director and passionate cook, Carla, said since the restaurant’s opening six years ago, it had grown into a vibrant space, and its new wine and tapas bar was inevitable given its popularity.

“The new bar adds a real sense of authenticity to the restaurant, as it resembles the many little bars and restaurants in Italy,” she said.

“Stepping through the doors of our wine bar will take you straight to Italy – the welcoming atmosphere is just like home to us and we hope patrons feel the same.

“You can sample our Italian wines, have a spritz and some cocktails that Flori will happily make for you and just like in Italy, you can enjoy an aperitivo before dinner.”

Carla said the urge to bring traditional and authentic Italian flavours back to the table and make people feel at home had been the two main goals when opening What’s in the Pot?

“We are a point of difference in the local food industry, as every dish is made from scratch,” she said.

“There is no cutting corners and we respect the product we are using, giving each dish the time and love it deserves.
“Food and flavours entice me, both savoury and sweet – simple ingredients are the base of all our dishes, followed by time and love, which complete the process."

Traditional Italian flavours are front and centre at the Redcliffe restaurant, with menu items including house favourite, osso buco with polenta, swordfish tartare and prawns in brandy and butter sauce, plus a range of delicious homemade desserts.

A variety of different seafood and meat options are also on offer, including goat, pork shanks and lamb, and vegetarian and vegan meals are also available, all reflecting the restaurant’s renowned tradition and taste.

The What’s In The Pot? Wine and Tapas Bar is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 6.30pm with nibbles and a new tapas menu available.
