Chasing Back To Back Premierships
F

ooty fans rejoice! The Rugby League gods have answered your prayers and the long off-season has finally drawn to a close. Reigning premiers, your mighty Redcliffe Dolphins are back and geared up to defend their title. You won't have to wait long to show your support in person. The first home game of the season is against the Sunshine Coast Falcons and it's set down for round two, in March, at Dolphin Stadium.

General manager of football at the club, Grant Cleal, said fans could look forward to a physical and spirited match. He went on to say that fans could also expect some new faces in the squad.

We had a couple of players retire, and at least three were offered NRL contracts following their time with the Dolphins, he said.

Try-scoring machine Kotoni Staggs looks like he'll be in a Broncos jersey more often than not. We've had to be very strategic in our recruitment to fill these gaps.

Exciting new faces to look out for are front rowers Jordan Grant and Nick Brown ' both former Mackay Cutters. In the back line, electrifying former East Tigers fullback Gerald McCallum, makes a new home with the Dolphins after recovering from a broken leg. Taylor Brown will also make a return after spending a lot of time off last season, recovering from a broken foot. They will join some familiar faces, including Redcliffe Juniors, Josh Beehag and Nathan Watts.

The boys started pre-season training in November and are fit, fast and ready to go. The support we had from fans last year was unbelievable and the boys can't wait to play in front of our home crowd again, Mr Cleal said.

So dust off your supporter packs and get along to Dolphin Stadium to cheer on your beloved Redcliffe Village Motors Dolphins. The team would love to see a stadium capacity crowd of 10,000 cheering them on. Keep up with the latest on the club via www.redcliffedolphins.com.au.
