Come along to the Arts and Crafters Xmas Market at the Old Redcliffe Fire Station. Explore Crafters Lane, with its hand-painted scarves, wooden art, mosaics, miniature paintings, jewellery, pottery, designer denim bags, children's summer clothing and more.
Savour the delicious food music as you browse a variety of beautiful products from local grassroots artisans. Supporting local artisans makes you feel good about your Christmas shopping and to add to the Christmas cheer, tuck into waffles, pancakes, sizzling sausages and other tempting fare as you stroll through the market stalls.
One of the highlights of the day will be enjoying fresh strawberries and cream in a specially designed handcrafted pottery bowl, which you can take home with you afterwards all for only $10 says to Janice Charlish, president of Moreton Bay Arts Council Inc. and market convenor.
Janice says, It's a great family day out. There is ample parking, entry is free, dogs on a leash are welcome and the kids will be thrilled when Santa pops in for a visit! A Christmas choir and the Hillbilly Bush Band will perform and there will be a roving harmonica player to add to the festive atmosphere.
An array of quality items have been specially handcrafted for this occasion and you can meet the artisans and see them working. The Redcliffe Arts Society gift shop will be open and there will be demonstrations in the studios, including watercolour painting, pottery and drawing.
I call it an incubation space, says Janice. The artists learn so much about themselves, their work and their market. You can also commission an artist to do something special specifically for you.
