Handmade Meets The Arts Market

Story: Redcliffe Guide
Mar 27, 2018
Handmade meets the Arts Market
Handmade meets the Arts is presented three times a year and is an opportunity to learn more about the thriving, local arts scene. The collaboration brings Love Handmade Markets together with Moreton Bay Arts Council. Co-founded by Janice Charlish and Janmaree Lowe, this unique event was created to showcase creative talent at the Old Redcliffe Fire Station.

Moreton Bay Arts Council is a passionate voice for local and regional creative groups and individuals in both visual and performing arts and is always looking for ways to support the creative community. Collaborating with Love Handmade Markets provided another avenue to do this.

Love Handmade Markets created Handmade Redcliffe, Redcliffe’s first handmade markets, and are known for presenting amazing markets across the region.

Expect to see Love Handmade Markets on the front lawns with handmade soaps, childrenswear, felt creations, jewellery, macrame, upcycled wares, handbags, homewares, jams, chutneys and more! Through the gates meet members of Moreton Bay Arts Council such as local artists, wood turners, ceramicists and creative groups. Visit the Redcliffe Pottery Group’s studio and pop up shop and Redcliffe Art Society Gallery. See a collection of stalls inside filled with locally made art and live demonstrations. Love Handmade Markets will be hosting free pom pom and Mother’s Day card-making workshops.

There will be over sixty stalls to see throughout the venue with great food, live music and art demonstrations.

Explore Handmade meets the Arts Market on Saturday 28 April, from 10am to 3pm at the Old Redcliffe Fire Station 395 Oxley Avenue, Redcliffe. Entry is free.
