First Year A Great Catch

With 12 months of seafood, scenic views and seaside celebrations behind them, popular restaurant Suttons Beach Pavilion is set to ring in its first anniversary.�

Formerly Pilpel By the Sea, the much-loved restaurant was purchased by friends Sandra, Oli and Darren in early 2017.

Owner Oli says the business has been a labour of love for the team.

We couldn't be more delighted with the way the first year has gone, except perhaps the arrival of cyclone Debbie one month in,� he says.

Our motivation is constantly reinforced from all the fabulous support and encouragement we receive from the local community, our loyal regular customers and new visitors.

We have the most amazing team of staff, who [are] all local to the area and are just as passionate about making the Pavilion a success as we are.�

Oli says it has been wonderful watching their vision come to life over the past year and they have enjoyed retaining the restaurant favourites while introducing new and exciting inclusions.

Our vision was to create a true family-friendly beachside experience, so whenever you are visiting the beach there's something at the Pavilion for you to enjoy,� he says.

The ongoing feedback has been so supportive and complementary and people are genuinely delighted that we continue to provide a great place to hang out at when at the beach.

As we continue to grow and expand we are always looking for new ways and offerings, hence the decision to relaunch the huge BBQ smoker in time for Australia day.

We have started working with Mick Hobson aka 'Goat Pie Guy' and the award-winning Pitmaster, who will be running the smoker on a regular basis going forward.

Oli says the Suttons Beach Pavilion's many dining options have kept new customers coming through the door and familiar faces returning for years on end.

Our restaurant offers casual beachside dining, from coffee and cake in the café and mouth-watering fish and chips in The Fish and Chippery to the Tapas terrace bar with its casual vibe and beautiful views across the bay and the huge function centre,� he says.

We have a dream that through passion and hard work, Suttons Beach Pavilion will continue to be a place people love to visit and enjoy for many years to come.�
