NYE Foreshore Fireworks
Welcome in 2018 with a party fit for the whole family at Scarborough Beach Foreshore.

Foreshore Fireworks is back and will feature two fireworks displays over Moreton Bay as well as an evening packed with food, entertainment and fun for everyone.

This year, the organising committee has moved the fireworks festival from Woody Point to Scarborough Beach for a more intimate, controlled display.

Foreshore Fireworks is a not-for-profit association started in 2016 and is run solely by volunteers. Last year they put on a huge festival, with almost 25,000 visitors lining Woody Point to welcome in the new year.

The association is committed to bringing fun, family-friendly and free events to the Moreton Bay community, and this year's event will not disappoint says event manager Lisa Casablanca.

We believe this event is very important for the community as the Moreton Bay region celebrates many events for Christmas, however nothing for New Year's, which is the pinnacle for starting a fresh New Year with our families,'' Lisa says.

This is somewhere they can come along to and bring their own picnic basket or a place where they can purchase food.  It is just a great time to spend with family and friends.''

This year's festival has a Hawaiian/beach party theme and kicks off at 4pm with numerous food trucks, onstage entertainment and amusement rides. Glow products will be on sale to help raise funds for the community event.

The family-friendly fireworks will be at 8.30pm, with the second fireworks display at midnight.

A shuttle bus will be running between Redcliffe Showgrounds and Scarborough to help ease parking congestion.

For the event's continuing success, the association is welcoming sponsors and volunteers to give and help on the day.
