Scarborough Christmas Carols
A delectable evening of Christmas festivities and carol singing along the beautiful Scarborough waterside will be the top of many families Christmas to-do list this year.

On Sunday, 10th December, Scarborough Beach Park will be transformed into a Christmas Wonderland when entertainment and festivities meet colour and pizazz at this year's Scarborough Christmas Carols.

Starting at 3pm with Redcliffe City Choir on the main stage, then followed by musical theatre, magic shows, dancing, carols, and the lighting of a giant Christmas tree, the night will finish at 8pm with the Redcliffe Dolphin's spectacular fireworks display.

Heralded as one of the region's must do events, Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism CEO, Shane Newcombe says, "Last year, the atmosphere was amazing with local families joining in the carolling fun and embracing this wonderful community event.  And with Christmas occurring just two weeks after the event, it's the perfect time to get into the Christmas spirit and prepare for the season."

This free event will also host an assortment of other activities such as a twilight market for people wanting to buy Christmas gifts, and a Santa's Village featuring various Christmas-themed arts and craft activities, including a colouring competition with the first prize being a free trip to Moreton Island on the new Redcliffe2Moreton Express ferry.

A free jumping castle, various workshops, such as writing a letter to Santa will be available, plus a giant snow globe that is sure to keep the children entertained. Santa will arrive on the main stage at 4:55pm to say hello to all the children before heading over to Santa's Village, where families can meet him in person.

A variety of food stalls ranging from hot meals to delectable sweets will cater for hungry tums, but those preferring their own picnic basket and blanket are encouraged to bring them along too.  Whilst the northern and southern carparks in Scarborough Beach Park will be closed to the public, parking will be available in the surrounding streets.

Mr Newcombe says, "Families are encouraged to come and enjoy the carols and Christmas activities taking place beside our lovely ocean views, and with the finale of the night being the fireworks' extravaganza, it really will be a spectacular night."

With this fun-filled event held in the picturesque location of Scarborough Beach Park, this local community event is sure to make the evening very special.
