Torque About Fun
BUCKLE UP AND GET READY for a truckload of good times when the Wheels of the Century Automotive Show 2017 takes over the Redcliffe Showgrounds on 12th November.
Run by the Clontarf Beach Scout Group, the Peninsula's own annual automotive show is now in its 17th year of raising funds for the group, and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Event organiser Cheryl Linsdell is expecting a great turnout of both entrants and visitors again this year. We usually get anywhere between 180 and 220 entrants on the day, Cheryl said, People come from far and wide.

With auto categories including Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Trucks, Bikes, Vintage/Veteran,
Vans, Sports Cars, Buses, Utes and Historical Vehicles, Wheels of the Century will have something for all models of motoring enthusiast.

We keep it as an automotive show rather than a car show so there is something for everyone, Cheryl said.

We have regulars who keep coming back every year, and new people every year. As it's our major fundraiser this is great!

Peter Foote has been attending Wheels of the Century since it began in 2000.

I love it, I've only ever missed one show. I'll be taking my 1959 Ford Edsel and I think it'll be the only one there Peter said, It's a good chance to catch up with people who like classic cars; some of the machines you see there are really nice.

Judges prizes will be awarded for Best in Show, Top Bike of Show and Best Represented Club, plus visitors can vote for the vehicle they love the most to win the People's Choice Award.

There will also be coffee vendors, market stalls and a food tent, plus live music by 'Special T' who play rock and roll hits from the 50s, 60s and 70s.
