A Marvelous Night for a Bush Dance!
Redcliffe's Zonta Club is hosting their annual 'Night of Hope' fundraiser with a Bush Dance featuring Beefa's Bush Band and Tracey Vaughan.

The Zonta Club has over 30,000 members across 65 countries and dedicates itself to improving the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy. Redcliffe club president Sammy Hunt is expecting their upcoming bush dance to be an exciting and lively night.

The band will have a caller explaining all the dance moves throughout the night. There will be raffles to be won on the night, and dinner will be provided.

In the past, Redcliffe Zonta has supported a range of projects including the making of a documentary about Breast Cancer Awareness entitled 'Side by Side', the distribution of birthing hygiene kits into developing countries, and the creation and local distribution of domestic violence Safety Cards which contain information and important contact numbers for women affected by domestic violence in our community.

Ms Hunt says, Zonta is an active advocate for domestic violence awareness, and has just had signs displaying helpline numbers placed in all the female public toilets on the peninsula.

She also sees the organisation's impact locally in other ways that assist women in the community.

We are very active in encouraging [educational] opportunities for women. This year we have provided scholarships for mature age women to take up or continue to study.

The Night Of Hope Bush Dance is an all-ages event, so the whole family is welcome to attend, and everyone is encouraged to dress for the occasion!

Dig out your famous worn out bush hat and boots and book yourself a place, because this event will be putting the 'fun' back into 'fundraiser'!
