Craft and Gift Fair, Help Quota, Help the Community
By Lisa Adams
Quota's annual Craft and Gift Fair will be held at the Redcliffe Showgrounds, with handmade items for sale by local groups and artists to help raise funds to support the local community.
Quota's noble mission to empower women, children, the deaf, hard of hearing, and speech-impaired in local communities is reflected in the wonderful work done by this group every day, and this couldn't be achieved without community support.
The Craft and Gift Fair will showcase local handmade artists and groups through various stalls, workshops, and demonstrations. Jewellery, woodwork, patchwork, quilting, weaving, art, pottery, baked goods, chocolate bouquets, collectable bears, and much more will be available for purchase at the Fair.
Other things to look out for include baby and kids wear, jams and pickles, paper-craft, cards and paper tole, and terrariums,ť says Kay Smallhorne of Redcliffe's Quota International.
Quota International operates in 14 countries around the world. They are a non-profit, non-partisan, non-sectarian organisation of diverse interest committed to sharing their time, talents, and resources to meet their service goals. Members are made up of all ages, occupations, and nationalities in a worldwide service of friendship.
Redcliffe's Quota Club began in 1957 and was the first women's service club in the area. Over the years, this active group has provided facilities for the local area such as Woody Point's Quota Park, the Sensory Garden at the Redcliffe Botanical Gardens, and play equipment at Railway Place Scarborough. In addition to this, Quota offers consistent aid to many local groups in need.

Our club continues to offer support to Carmill and Pender Riding for the Disabled, Meals on Wheels, domestic violence refuge Jebb House, and Redcliffe Hospital. We have also been very proud to assist Hummingbird House, Queensland's only hospice for children,ť explains Kay.

Proceeds from the event will go to support the many groups Redcliffe Quota International lend a hand to.
Plus, everyone who attends the Craft and Gift Fair will go into the draw to win a fabulous two-night getaway at the luxury Mooloolaba Newport Apartments valued at $800, plus an 'Indulgence Pack' with their lucky door ticket.
After browsing the stalls, we invite all visitors to stay and enjoy our gourmet slices with a coffee or tea, or take a lunch break all of which has been popular in previous years,ť Kay says.
