Local Businesses’ Sweet Success Story
Having teamed up late last year, My Preloved Wardrobe and sister store Bikkies and Bakes are powering into the new year with more options for those wanting to be stylish on a budget and needing to dress the kids — all the while enjoying a sweet treat in the process.

The team behind My Preloved Wardrobe, Lisa Berg and her mother, Vicki Gillie, and Andrea Dowsett, owner and operator of Bikkies and Bakes, are responsible for overseeing the newly expanded Clontarf premises.

Lisa Berg said that teaming up and expanding into an additional location (behind the original My Preloved Wardrobe address at 92 Elizabeth Avenue) has proved to be a very rewarding experience for all involved and added an exciting new element to the clothes swap store.

“My Preloved Wardrobe offers an exchange program whereby if your clothes aren’t stained, damaged or broken, you receive credit to use in-store,” Ms Berg said.

Ms Berg said the original shop stocked adult clothes (nothing is priced over ten dollars), while the new children’s store (also housing Bikkies and Bakes) stocked “all things kids” with a maximum price of five dollars per item.

According to Ms Berg, the results of a house flipping endeavour created the space required for the innovative new development.

“With preloved as our priority, we flipped this preloved house into a shop in six weeks,” Ms Berg said.

The community now has a very flexible retail option thanks to the partnership, which was founded on a shared mindset.

“Being mums, we knew what was missing in Redcliffe — a place where the kids can safely play and parents can shop without breaking the bank and enjoy coffee and delicious baked goods,” Ms Berg said.

Ms Berg said that their new location would offer the perfect backdrop for a playdate and that Andrea’s Biscoff Double Choc New York Style Chunky Cookies were an ultimate “must try.”

It all sounds very sweet indeed!
