Red Cross Chicks bring Fundraiser

Giving back through craft is what Red Cross Chicks is all about, and it’s also a great way to find connection through a shared love of making things for the community.

The Red Cross Chick’s craft group meets every Friday from 11.30am to 2.30pm to craft together and donate the proceeds to the Red Cross.

Craft has always sparked the interest of the organiser, Coleen Prior, who views it as a means of uniting people for a worthwhile goal.

“I find craft very relaxing and enjoyable, but more so, I enjoy watching how our group helps each other and lends a hand to those when help is needed,” Ms Prior said. “I don’t think I have ever been involved with such a wonderful group of ladies who would give their all for those in need.”

The group is now hosting its very first fundraiser in early December, holding hourly raffles, a children’s corner (with lucky dips), sausage sizzle and, of course, plenty of craft and other stalls.

In terms of the group itself, Red Cross Chicks always welcome new members (they ask for $3 for tea or coffee) with a Red Cross membership being mandatory for insurance purposes. Call 0419 755 743 for more information.
