REDCLIFFE PARKRUN – 5K COMMUNITY FUN RUN EVERY SATURDAY 

Parkrun is a global sensation, offering free 5k fun runs for everyone. It offers an opportunity for all the local community, regardless of age or gender, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy the outdoors and get physically active. Parkrun encourages people to run, jog, walk and volunteer together – this event is truly open to all and best of all it is FREE. Taking part is easy – just register before your first ever parkrun. The great thing is that you only ever need to do this once, then just set your alarm for Saturday morning and get yourself there.

GROW IT LOCAL – CONNECT WITH LIKE-MINDED GREEN THUMBS

City of Moreton Bay has teamed up with Grow It Local, a free online platform that allows you to engage with fellow community members to exchange your homegrown goods, knowledge, seeds, recipes, garden space, skills, and more. Local growers can register their gardens and connect with others, and aspiring growers can join, learn, and participate. Don’t have a garden? No worries! You can still connect with the community, access inspiring content, and attend free or low-cost workshops, talks, and tours throughout the year.

UPDATE ON SUTTONS BEACH PAVILION

City of Moreton Bay’s long-term project to revitalise Suttons Beach Pavilion and its surrounding park has reached a significant milestone. Mayor Peter Flannery announced the approval of a Development Application for the demolition of the existing pavilion, marking the beginning of a series of steps to enhance the Redcliffe Peninsula precinct. This initiative includes finding a contractor for demolition, site preparation, and potential future development. Council is also considering a design competition that incorporates Art Deco and contemporary elements based on community preferences. Despite structural defects, the project aims to preserve the area’s iconic status while listening to the community’s feedback.

THE BREAKFAST CLUB – DONATION APPEAL

The Breakfast Club in Redcliffe Is currently seeking donations to ensure the continued support of members in the community. The club is requesting items including small cans of tuna, soups or stews, fruit, pasta sauces, baked beans, UHT milk, muesli bars, biscuits, sunscreen, toothbrushes, insect repellent, and sunscreen.
