Mornings Well Spent with Peninsula Herb Group
Mornings spent in the herbaceous environs of Moreton Bay’s own Botanic Gardens are the ideal way for Peninsula Herb Group contributors to keep active, stay social and give back to the community.

With warm winter sun filtering through to scented lavender, exquisite roses, and a range of unique and uncommon plant specimens, volunteers work from 8am till 10am during the season and enjoy gardening and a well-deserved spot of tea.

Gardener Barbara Hornsby, who has tended the herb garden for over 20 years, said that the offer of any extra hands would be well received in order to carry on the ongoing project.

“We work every Monday and we do have the occasional break on some public holidays – though not too many as we really don’t like to miss our Monday mornings. It’s always a great start to our week,” Barbara said.

Barbara said she found it enjoyable to collect seeds, make cuttings, and to assist visitors who were often interested in finding a specific herb species.

“We love to share our knowledge and welcome anyone who is interested to come along on Monday mornings.”
