Community Hub Ready To Open Its Doors
People on the Peninsula can now access support services more easily in a newly built, one-stop shop setting.

After five years of planning and construction, the Redcliffe Uniting Church is inviting the community to celebrate the opening of the Redcliffe Uniting Community Hub (The Hub) on Saturday, 30 July.

Reverend Paul Clark said The Hub was a wonderful new gift for Redcliffe right in the heart of the community.

“It will actually be fantastic to move from building a place, to building people,” Reverend Paul said. “Investing in people’s lives. Seeing people come alive. Seeing the community come together.”

The Hub is a $5 million purpose-built, integrated community service centre on the grounds of the church, which has been designed to meet the growing needs of the area.

Locals will be able to access essential health and support services in one convenient location, without travelling out of Redcliffe.

Business Services Manager Fiona McPherson said more than half a dozen tenants would operate out of The Hub.

“Everyone is keen to welcome the businesses and service providers who’ll be moving in very soon,” Fiona said. “Inviting the public in to introduce them all at The Hub open day is the final step in the process for our team and tenants.”

The anchor tenant will be UnitingCare Queensland, who deliver counselling and family support services to more than 100 foster families in the region. Many other groups and services that have operated within church spaces for years will now transition to new areas in The Hub.

The Hub open day will highlight these new spaces, as well as offer plenty of fete-style fun for the whole family to enjoy.

“Come along to our open day to explore all the services and opportunities available and how this place will help bring community and support to our region,” Reverend Paul said.

“Not to mention free stuff for children – animal farm, face painting, arts and crafts, jumping castle, and food stalls.”

Attendees will also be able to enjoy live music on the lawn, a treasure hunt, and coffee, tea and treats in the brand new café.
