73rd Annual Redcliffe Show
The time has come to unleash your inner child, stock up on your favourite showbags, and feast on fairy floss and dagwood dogs.

The 73rd Annual Redcliffe Show is running from the 24 June to the 26 June, with the three day celebration including activities and events the whole family will enjoy.

Run by the Redcliffe Agricultural, Horticultural and Industrial Society, the show has been operating on the Redcliffe Showgrounds since 1950 and prides itself on including the artistic interests of the whole community.

Show Society Secretary Vanessa McIntyre said the annual event will include educational entertainment as well as activities that have been staples in the show’s program for decades.

“We provide free educational entertainment with an animal nursery & reptile display, along with stunt BMX rider displays, puppet shows and whip cracking workshops for children,” Vanessa said.

“Not to mention the traditional show entertainment of horse ring events, horse jumping and woodchopping.”

Vanessa continues, saying that local shows have a way of bringing communities together.

“They encourage people to showcase their skills, and hopefully gain acknowledgement and win a prize,” Vanessa said.

“A local show brings joy, laughter and fun back into our lives, reminiscent of childhood.”

The creative pavilion will house exhibitions of art, craft, photography and needlework, as well as cookery and horticulture. The Show Society also encourages entries into one of the competitions including cookery, woodcraft, and needlework which helps with the preservation of these skills.

“The awarding of merit and prizes encourages individuals to attain proficiency in a wide range of talents,” Vanessa said.

“And is vitally important to ensure that these skills are passed onto future generations.”

The Redcliffe Show is one of the largest shows in Southeast Queensland, with more than 20,000 people visiting across the three day event.

Families can expect all the show-day favourites including night-time entertainment, fireworks, showbags, show rides, roaming performers and for the budget-conscious family, the show offers plenty of free exhibitions and activities for all to experience.
