Ladies Bring The Laughs

Four comedy queens of Queensland will hold court for a night of side-splitting laughs on the northside this month.

The whole audience will be in stitches when The Sit Down Comedy Club presents Comedy Queens at the North Lakes Sports Club on Saturday, 20 November.

Sit Down Comedy Club owner and director Fedele Crisci said North Lakes could expect a night of hilarity from four truly hilarious and gifted comedians.

All four acts have incredibly different life experiences and comedic styles, which guarantees a little something for everyone,� Fedele said.

The cast of comedy royalty includes Fiona McGary, who has performed for over 20 years in almost every comedy venue in the country, award-winning comedian and cabaret artist Jenny Wynter, Brisbane comedy scene favourite Ting Lim, and 2021 Raw Comedy Qld State Champion, Bron Lewis.

Fedele said the gender ratio in the global comedy industry was quite heavily skewed to men.

This is not a reflection of talent, there's just simply more men performing comedy than there are female or non-binary comics,� Fedele said.

We decided to put together a show that exclusively celebrates some of the truly hilarious and talented women that are currently performing in the South East Queensland comedy scene.�

Ting Lim, who has been performing with The Sit Down Comedy Club since 2011, said the audience could expect to have an awesome night.

Everyone on the line-up is an absolute crusher and I am honoured to be on the same line-up with them,� Ting said.�

I personally like talking about things that irritate me or don't make sense to me, so they can expect that from me.�

Ting said she enjoyed playing to Brisbane crowds.

They like having a good time and are honest,� she said. So you know when they are laughing that they are laughing because they are enjoying your performance.

There is nothing better than to have a whole room of strangers laughing at an idea you find funny. I feel awesome after a great gig, especially when a joke I have been chipping away at worked. I love the rawness and the camaraderie that comes with it.�
