Come and Try Dragon Boating
From competitive alpha types, to first-timers looking to socialise and connect, there's a place for everyone in dragon boating.

Redcliffe Red Dragon Boat Club Secretary Debra Hall said the club's Come and Try event will provide a safe and enjoyable introduction to the sport of dragon boating for residents across the Moreton Bay Regional Council area.

Dragon boating is an inclusive sport open to people of all ages and all levels of fitness,ť Debra said.

It caters to a diversity of commitment levels ' from those who want to train as sports paddlers to those who simply want to enjoy being out on the water.ť

Newcomers will be introduced to the sport with a safety briefing, before heading out into the Newport canals. Then it's off to the open waterfront, where you might spot some dolphins if you're lucky. The session will include lessons on techniques and timing, and some competition and fun for good measure.

Debra said people really should come and give dragon boating a try.

You may be surprised how much fun you can have while having a great work out.ť
