See the magnificent kites soaring through the sky as the Redcliffe KiteFest returns in September with brand new family activities to enjoy. It will be a weekend of colour, fun and festivities which will create lasting memories for years to come.
Redcliffe KiteFest will have all your favourite market stalls, food vans, and kite making workshops.
There will also be a kids' carnival section, and the little ones are in for a huge treat ' Bluey and Bingo will be taking to the Sesame Lane main stage twice a day.
Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism (MBRIT) marketing officer Jesse Lee said the 2021 Redcliffe KiteFest will be bigger, brighter, and better than ever before.
Our kite fliers have many brand-new kites and giant kites that will be flying through the sky this year, Jesse said.
It will be the best KiteFest yet, because we have Bluey and Bingo live on stage ' we are expecting huge crowds for that.
We have aerobatic displays and a challenge zone, where people can put their drone flying skills to the test and fight it out with family and friends.
The challenge zone, run by Innovate Moreton Bay, is another exciting addition to the festival. There will be spaces for older kids ' and the young at heart ' to fly drones solo or in teams, and participate in daily competitions.
This is an interactive space where people can fly drones in obstacle courses, and race them through netted and protected areas full of hoops and loops, Jesse said.
They can team up and battle each other and shoot all the drones down with Nerf guns and have a friendly war.
The aerobatic display, daily at midday, is another must-see event with Yak 52 Aircraft set to wow the crowds.
Tickets for Redcliffe KiteFest are available online, with a limited number at the gate. Online purchases receive discounted prices and entry into the Sesame Lane Golden Ticket competition.
