Big Day Out for Little Music Lovers
It's time for toddlers and pre-school aged kids to dance, play, and get creative at a special music concert just for them.

Moreton Bay Regional Council has created the free Redcliffe Mini Music and Arts Festival especially for children aged under five, to be held at Crockatt Park in Woody Point this month.

Mayor Peter Flannery said children would be smiling from ear to ear with a huge array of creative activities to participate in, and a line-up of A-list performers set to entertain.

I'm a big believer in the importance of these kinds of family events for locals, especially littlies, Peter said.

Musician Linsey Pollak will take to the stage performing his Paper Scissors Rock show, playing instruments made from household and garden objects.

Linsey said the show was fun and musical and would show kids that music is all around us.

I use bagpipes made from rubber gloves to clarinets made from garden hose and a whole range of different instruments, which together, with the use of live looping, builds up a whole orchestra of sound, Linsey said.

And with a few surprises in store, the performance is sure to dazzle kids and parents alike.

I'm aware with an audience of pre-school aged kids you've got adults in the audience too, and I'm just as keen to make the show work for them, Linsey said. It's not just fun, quirky sounds. It's very important to me that the quality of the music is strong.

I love doing shows that are a real mixture of ages from very young kids to adults.

DJ Micki will also be there to keep the party rolling with popular beats, while high-energy band Red Rocket 3 blast off playing their new single, Planets.

There's plenty to keep the little ones entertained including a hands-on arts and craft zone where they can make a musical instrument, a sports zone, free amusement rides, and a selection of food stalls and markets.

The festival will follow a COVID-safe event plan with attendees required to check-in using a QR code upon arrival. Free parking is available around the venue.
