Costumes & Cocktails: Always A Good Time

Redcliffe Museum will take you back in time with its themed cocktail party titled Cheers through the Years, which is reminiscent of the 1920s, 1950s and 1980s. This hosted event will offer guests the chance to explore the social histories of the eras and learn to create famous cocktails unique to each generation, dance moves and games.
The hosts ' actors 'Virginia' (aka. Julie Martin) and 'Harold' ' will masterfully entertain and guide you as the night is broken into different eras in time. Watch as the backdrops, costumes and entertainment flips with the time and enjoy the immersive party as you are included in every stage of the evening.
Virginia said you would be asked to dress in your favourite era's attire before attending the party and would be sampling a selection of canapés and cocktails representing each decade.
The music on the night will evoke memories of times passed, with an opportunity to show off your Charleston dance, limbo and moonwalking skills.
The entertainment doesn't stop there, with competitions including a cocktail garnishing game. Participants are encouraged to think about events that influenced the eras that their parents and grandparents may have been a part of.
We have done this once before and it was so much fun, Virginia said. It is an immersive experience and you will feel like you're mingling with friends. Harold and I will be continuously changing costumes and keeping the energy up as we engage the guests in conversations relating to the history through fun games and competitions during the night.
Virginia said she was super excited to share the event at Redcliffe Museum and was looking forward to welcoming her guests for a party they will be talking about for years to come.
This adult only event reflects each of the points in time, she said. It is a cross between a murder mystery night, (minus the murder) and a wild 1960s party of frivolous fun.
The cocktail party will be $15 per person and includes the making and sampling of drinks, nibbles and games. Numbers are limited. Book your ticket by phoning 3883 1898.
