Love Handmade Christmas Market
Love Handmade Markets is now in its eighth year and enjoys the loyal following of locals and visitors from near and far. Their annual Christmas market is on course to be bigger and better than ever.

Janmaree Lowe, founder and market curator, believes we need all the joy and love we can find this Christmas.

This year has taught us how important our local neighbourhood and businesses are. When borders shut, we have each other. There's power in being in it together, being resilient communities that are self-sufficient and sustainable, she said.

The market brings a unique opportunity to meet with local makers such as Little Table Co, Berry Good Jam and Chutney, Cushion Mountain, Pouch Design Co and Mouse at Play. With eighty stalls to browse on the day, you will find the perfect gift for a loved one, or something special for yourself.

While this year's event might look a little different, it needed only a few changes to meet COVID-Safe requirements.

We care about our community and have taken steps to make sure there's room for everyone to socially distance. We've introduced event angels to encourage the measures and increased hygiene and cleaning. There may be a short wait to enter the grounds if we reach capacity, Janmaree said.

Once inside, there'll be plenty of Christmas cheer to go around though.

Social distancing Santa will roam to give a wave, ring his bell, cheer our spirits ' decked out in handmade beach attire made in Brisbane. There'll be a Christmas scene in the centre of the market to grab some festive snaps and memories too, she said.

It's important to throw our support behind everything local, and the Moreton Bay region is rich in talent. We have our own amazing growers, bakers and makers to turn to. We are so lucky. We are on a mission to make locally made the norm again.
