With the launch of its new outdoor precinct last year, Redcliffe favourite Morgans Seafood truly encapsulates the notion of alfresco dining.
Julie Hansson has worked for Morgans Seafood for 11 years and is passionate about the restaurant's progress over the past decade.
Morgans Seafood was sold to the current owners in May 2016, who spent the first year and a half observing the business, before starting to make changes and improvements,ť she said.
One of the most noticeable improvements has been the recent total refurbishment of the outdoor area, which was too small and beginning to look dated.
The new space is weather-friendly, bigger and a lot more aesthetically pleasing.
There are now 440 seats and tables with different options of position and types of seating, built-in speakers to give customers music all the time, as well as a live musician each Sunday from noon to 3pm.
We have also licensed our outdoor area so customers can now enjoy an alcoholic beverage with their meal.ť
Julie said the feedback over the last few months had been wonderful from both new and regular customers.
The majority of visitors are loving the new area, particularly the spectacular views of the marina, amazing sunsets and weather protection,ť she said.
They also love that they can kick back with a glass of wine or a cold beer with their fresh seafood.ť
Julie attributes the venue's long running success to its consistency in quality, variety and atmosphere, as well as truly establishing itself as part of the community.
Morgans has been running for the last 35 years and today employs 45-50 local residents,ť she said.
It is a destination for both locals and tourists, and showcases Moreton Bay seafood like no other fish market.
The freshness of the seafood coming off the boats and straight onto the shop display really sets us apart - couple that with our picturesque location and great new dining precinct and it's a winner.ť
