InsideOutside Theatre Company twists a few unlikely genres in the unveiling of its interactive murder mystery 'Once Upon A Serial Killer' at Scarborough's 3eightnine.
With a cast of colourful and somewhat unpredictable fairy tale characters, the play follows the plight of Red, Snow and Cindy as they battle to rid Storyville and the surrounding countryside of werewolves, witches and vampires.
The catch there is a serial killer in their midst. Is it tame Wolfie, Shorty the dwarf, Charming or one of the girls?
This is a fun show with lots of twists and turns and of course, murder. We have an amazing cast from all over Brisbane, and it will definitely be a night out with a difference, says Artistic Director Angela Witcher.
Producers encourage lively audience participation by inviting theatre-goers to arrive dressed as their favourite fairy tale characters ready to join in on the sleuthing.
Melanie Collis says the show got everyone involved on the edge of their seats, calling the interaction mind-boggling.
'Once Upon A Serial Killer' premieres 9 and 16 June at Scarborough's 3eightnine, located at Landsborough Avenue, opposite the beach. Tickets will cost $62 (including a delicious three-course meal). The show will also be playing at Redcliffe Musical Theatre's new venue in Anzac Avenue on 4, 5 and 6 August.
Tickets can be booked online at: www.insideoutsidetheatre.com/murder-mysteries/ or by calling Angela on 0499 002 989. Discounts are available for group or multiple bookings.
