Redcliffe Festival Of Sails
It's anchors aweigh on the Peninsula as Redcliffe prepares for one of its most popular annual festivals, the Redcliffe Festival of Sails.

Featuring more than 150 food and market stalls, the free event features entertainment for people of all ages, live music and performances, and even a drop-in visit from the skydiving Easter Bunny.

Held on Good Friday at Suttons Beach, the Easter-themed festival will celebrate 16 years of the event, with Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism captaining the event for the first time in 2017.

Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism CEO Shane Newcombe says the event is looking fantastic, with a full program of entertainment on both the Main and Kids Stages.

This is the first year that Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism has run the event and we couldn't be happier with the response from the local community and stakeholders, he says.

We've also got an amazing array of food and market stalls lined up for visitors to check out.

Entertainment and activities are spread out across the whole of Suttons Beach and Suttons Beach Park families and visitors can relax to live music in front of the Main Stage, and kids can have a ball and engage with the great entertainment on the Kids Stage.

The Kids Zone features free workshops, photo booth and other activities.

From 9am the beach will come to life with sporting activities and there will even be professional sand sculpture and sand sculpting workshops.

Shane says the festival has become a longstanding tradition and gives the local community something special to do for Good Friday.

Each year the event continues to attract more and more people, showcasing this beautiful part of the world to visitors and tourists, he says.

It is something the whole community gets behind as there is something special about tradition.

And with thousands and thousands of people attending this event every year, it is one of the most special traditions in the region also, who doesn't love a skydiving Easter Bunny?
