 AN EVENING OF CHRISTMAS CHEER
Moreton Bay Region Industry

and Tourism is offering an array

of celebratory events in the area

for Christmas this year.

The Scarborough Christmas Carols, previously know as 'Christmas By The Sea', is part of this program and will be sure to delight both young and old with all there is on offer.

Luke Richter-Steers from MBRIT explains, Scarborough Christmas Carols is part of the Christmas in the Moreton Bay Region program. This consists of a whole catalogue of community run Christmas events as well as the MBRIT's four marquee events: Pine Rivers Park Christmas Carols, North Lakes Christmas Carols, Scarborough Christmas Carols and Caboolture Christmas Carols.

The event will be an afternoon and evening of community Christmas cheer, held alongside an impressive ocean view. MBRIT is very proud and excited to be hosting Scarborough Christmas Carols for the first time. It will feature carols and entertainment from local community groups as well as professional performers, says Luke.

People will be encouraged to sing along to their favourite carols and will also have the opportunity to enjoy dance groups, roving Christmas performers, twilight markets, and free Christmas activities and workshops.

There will be plenty of carolling performances from Redcliffe State High, Red Music Centre and Sharon Alback Dancers before Santa arrives at 4.30pm. Following Santa's arrival, carols will resume with the Redcliffe City Choir, Four Red, Clontarf Baptist Church and Redcliffe Musical Theatre. Headline performers, The Sugar Shakers, will take to the stage from 7.15pm.

In addition to the fantastic stage program there will be laser tag for the kids, a life-sized snow globe that families can go inside, Santa's village, twilight markets and food stalls, describes Luke.

The evening will finish with a bang thanks to a huge fireworks spectacular, beginning at 8pm.

Scarborough Christmas Carols will be held at Scarborough Beach Park on Sunday 11th December from 3pm-6pm. This is a free community event. For the full Christmas events calendar and stage program, please visit www.visitmoretonbayregion.com.au/christmas
