Folk Blues Artist Hailey Calvert Captivates Kitefest

Along with the never-ending entertainment available at the KiteFest, the incredibly talented Hailey Calvert, folk blues singer-songwriter will be taking the stage to entertain the crowds.

For the past few years, Hailey Calvert has captivated the Redcliffe KiteFest audiences with folk-style songs and intricate guitar playing accompanying her soulful, bluesy voice. Calvert is delighted to be joining the Festival again this year and will play her folk-style songs and uniquely portrayed covers. Having played at many festivals including the Woodford Folk Festival, Red Deer Festival, and Redcliffe Sails Festival to name a few, Calvert takes audiences on a journey with her cleverly crafted songs.

People come to the KiteFest in the morning to enjoy the coffee and sun while listening to my music,� says Calvert, It's nice to set the scene and let everyone ease into the rest of the day with the beautiful kites flying in the background.�

Calvert received a Queensland Music Awards nomination for her song 'Take Me Home'. Described as having rich vocals similar to that of Eva Cassidy, Calvert's ability to woo an audience with intricate guitar picking accompanying her vocals results in a captivating performance. Having travelled overseas sharing her music with the world, Calvert has also sung backing vocals for Michael Buble and been shared on Facebook by UK Musician, Passenger.

I remember the first time I went to the Redcliffe KiteFest and being absolutely in awe of the super impressive kites flying in the sky,� says Calvert, I'd expected the typical diamond style kites but there was an enormous whale in the sky. They were fantastic for any age.�

With a new album out on October 4, the singer songwriter of 12 years is looking forward to entertaining everyone at the KiteFest and bringing a renewed interest in her charismatic story telling through music.
